There’s a moment at the beginning of a new challenge — after the exciting buzz of potential wears off and once you’ve learned enough to understand how little you actually know, when the glory of nailing it gets replaced by the fear of missing the mark — when it’s easy to get stuck. That’s the very moment I love, because it’s the moment when idealism is replaced by perseverance, and when we have to reach outside of our own experience to find the path out.
As a design strategist, I help people connect the dots between their own hypotheses and the lived experiences of the people around them. My job is to synthesize the insights from diverse inputs and create clarity — and options. Over countless engagements, I’ve honed the ability to question, to teach, to reframe and to summarize. I parachute into unfamiliar business units, quickly learning so I can serve as a partner and an ally, an advisor who sees the brutal truths, who can state them compassionately, and who has a legitimate shared stake in understanding why they’re there and how to navigate through them. The solutions aren’t mine — they were there all along. I just help people frame them.
The majority of my portfolio isn't actually here, because I’ve spent the past four years guiding teams on strategy implementation, big bets for new market opportunities and connecting vision to needs and enablers — which falls on the “proprietary” side of information access. Nevertheless, this site represents a few recent side projects and hobbies, because I’m always searching for ways to apply what I learn.
